Denver 7s Selects

The Denver Rugby 7s Selects were branded by USA Rugby in early 2014 as a City based regional Elite Select team and in July 2017 USA Rugby added the Denver Sevens as a National Development Academy. We have a culturally diverse staff and players including a couple of Olympians (Martin Iosefo and Ben Pinkelman) on our team as well as 5 other players (Kevon Williams, Walt Elder, Malon Al-Jiboori, Nick Boyer & Cody Melpphy) who have recently played on the US National 7s team. We also have another 14 players that have been invited to train with the National team. The Denver 7s are 2 time Rugbytown 7s Champions in 2016 & 2015 and took 2nd in 2014.

SoCal Griffins

The Southern California Rugby Football Union (SCRFU) was established in 1937 by Frankenstein actor himself Boris Karloff in Los Angeles California. The Griffins have been the All Star team for the union dating back to 1954. The Griffins Men and Womens program (15’s and 7’s) have always been made up of the best players from SoCal teams. The Griffins have selected many players that have gone to play professionally both state side and overseas. Current Eagles Mikey Teo, Joe Taufete’e are both Griffin alumni. The Griffins extend from youth to U23 and seniors. Some Griffins sides have played overseas in tournaments and others have welcomed International teams to serve as testing grounds before international series. All staff are hand selected from SoCal teams both men and women. This will be the 4th straight year the Griffins have the privilege of playing in Rugby Town 7’s!

Tiger Rugby

Tiger Rugby started as a touring team in 2007, with the intention of exposing young, up and coming players to the highest level of competition at international tournaments. Over the years, we noticed that our approach to the game struck a transcending chord regardless of which language was being spoken. Tiger players have always been selected as much by who they are as people, as their ability to play on the field. Tiger has and intends to continue to develop players who are true ambassadors for the game. Our family has grown to include rugby 7s greats from South Africa, England, Wales, Kenya and New Zealand, as well as the more than 50 U.S Eagles and many Olympians that have proudly worn the Tiger jersey.

Tsunami Sport Barbarians

The Tsunami Barbarians, started in 2018, embodies the spirit of Barbarian rugby.  This invite only tournament team presently draws players from 7 different countries, with different cultures and playing styles. Our mission is to provide up and coming international players the ability to grow their experience by competing at a very high level with players from around the world. In 2018 our initial team performed better than expected, delivering some great results and providing a foundation to build upon. This year we have assembled our strongest squad to date, expectations are to go deep into the 2019 competition. Tsunami Barbarians is supported and sponsored by Tsunami Sport  an eco-friendly apparel company, Hooligan Sport and JEB Asia.

Tsunami is coached and managed by an experienced staff.  This  includes ex Hong Kong 7’s Internationals Nigel D’Acre and Riaz Fredericks, Denver local and USA Classic representative Mark Perle, and Atlantis and USA Highschool 7’s coach Greg Schor. Presenting a vastly experienced 7’s management team.

Celtic Barbarians

Over the course of 40 tours, domestically and internationally, the Celtic Barbarians R.F.C. have built a reputation for developing many of North America’s future rugby stars and providing top coaching opportunities for the players who participate.

The Celtic Barbarians are honored to be part of the RugbyTown Sevens tournament and are bringing the top 12 men for their roster for this premier event.  They’re looking forward to competing against the best of the best in Glendale and prepared to give it all toward winning the championship.

In the last 12 months, the Barbarians have experienced record breaking entries and results at the North American 7s and Tropical 7s (a very successful tour of over 125 players & coaches!), while finishing 4th with their boys in prestigious Dubai 7s and 1st at the Paris World Games in July for U15 girls & U16 boys teams.

As recently as last spring, Celtic Barbarians performances have vaulted young players into the Rugby Canada and USA Eagles squads.  They also enjoy a healthy working relationship with some of the top rugby playing Universities in Canada and the USA.
